Swegon Tour: Design Better Buildings with Gold RX NA
Chesapeake Systems hosted a product demonstration of the Swegon Gold RX NA in their air touring van. Presented by Swegon's Regional Sales Manager, Brian Stinnett, this is the first air handling unit for commercial buildings to be certified as a Passive House component.
Setting a new standard Gold's offerings are:
The Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) system is the heart of most Passive House HVAC systems. Swegon's revolutionary GOLD RX NA is the first commercial ERV unit that meets the rigorous Passive House standard. It managed to achieve this in several ways.
Power Consumption: GOLD RX NA units achieve the electrical power target of < 0.77 W/CFM. Swegon utilizes specially-designed mixed flow direct drive plenum fans with EC motors.
Energy Recovery: Energy recovery is accomplished with Swegon's own heat or energy recovery wheel. GOLD RX NA surpasses the 75% efficiency Passive House Institute minimum requirement with wheel efficiencies reaching 86%.
Air Leakage: GOLD RX NA is certified with a low internal leakage of 0.45%.
Sound Level: GOLD RX NA operates at low sound levels, allowing you to place the unit close to occupied areas as in our Comfort Training Center.
Airflow Control: GOLD RX NA includes integral controls with air flow monitors to optimize airflow and energy recovery and to meet PHI requirements. IQ Logic controls can integrate with BACnet, Lonmark, N2, Modbus and are BTL certified.
